I ventured out this morning looking for solace after not only the strikes, but the general doom, gloom and general downturn in everyone's fortunes. I was shocked to find this has also impacted on my own finances. I am sure many of you will empawthise...
I checked the weather before setting off on my morning walk. I wondered along Holland Park Avenue, on my way to mothers for brunch, briefly stopping off at the bank.
I was visibly shaken when I checked my balance. It looks as though my pawdicure alongside my extra order of Port and lamb sausages, was rather more costly than I'd previously anticipated.
It was very boorish of mother, who upon hearing my pleas for yet another advance on my allowance, waffled on about my feckless attitude to money... Well, one has to have one's hair done.
Mother insisted I accompany her to Fortnum's, where she searched for a more cost effective alternative, for keeping one's hair looking beautiful. Not withstanding my protestations, all mother would agree to was my choosing a contemporary take on this timeless classic.
I have, as you can see taken to my bed in protest...
The extraordinary thing is, I rather like it. It's warm, keeps ones hair in place and is ever so comfy...
